About the museum
Sutton Hoo, near Woodbridge, East Anglia, is the site contained an undisturbed ship burial, including a wealth of Anglo-Saxon artefacts of outstanding art-historical and archaeological significance.
This tale of king Rædwald is very much inspired by these artefacts; truth and fiction are closely intertwined. One could see it as a modern take on the Old English epic poem about Beowulf.
