Church overview and information - tap/scroll
The definitive image of a Marsh church, this church sits alone next to a water-filled dyke. It is visible from a great distance across fields and grassland. Sheep often graze up to its door.
Until the 1960s it was often cut off by winter flooding, when it could only be reached by boat.
Inside, the church presents a perfect 18th century interior, with white-painted triple-decker pulpit and box pews, complete with oval text boards.
Access
The church is locked. A key hangs on the right-hand gatepost of the driveway to Becket House - the house nearest to the church in the Appledore direction. Please DO NOT knock on the door for the key or any queries relating to Fairfield.
Please remember to lock the church and return the key after your visit.
