Welcome to BotanicalDryGarden, the first dry botanical garden in Italy.

Take a moment to observe the park’s entrance area: here the Lippia nodiflora lawn opens into a path that leads you toward the main gate, framed by the light blooms of Gaura lindheimeri and the soft golden tufts of Stipa tenuissima, gently swaying in the wind.

The garden hosts over 1,500 species and varieties of plants and is designed as a thematic garden, dedicated to the selection and cultivation of plants with low water requirements and low maintenance needs. During your visit, you will encounter many Mediterranean species alongside plants from different parts of the world. You can immerse yourself in the fragrances of aromatic plants, discover medicinal species used for centuries, walk across soft and resilient flowering lawns, and find many botanical curiosities scattered along the paths.

The park was created in 2010 as an integral part of the Mates Piante nursery, active since 1994 and specialized in the production of Mediterranean plants. Today, the garden covers an area of over 4 hectares and, as you will notice, it is not equipped with a fixed irrigation system. Plants are watered only once or, at most, twice a year, with abundant but infrequent emergency irrigations designed to support them during the hottest and driest months, until the return of seasonal rains.

BotanicalDryGarden is also certified by Bioagricert for the management of urban, recreational, and landscape green areas according to organic farming techniques, confirming an approach that combines beauty, sustainability, and respect for the environment.
