Welcome to Valencia and to this guided tour of the once capital of the Old Kingdom of Valencia.

Valencia, Spain's 3rd largest city, is best known for the annual vibrant and somewhat raucous March Las Fallas Festival in honor of Saint Joseph. The birthplace of paella and the Valencia orange, the city fronts the Mediterranean Sea which means there are miles and miles of stunning beaches. What many do not realize is that the city of Valencia is a treasure trove of history, art and modern day architectural wonders. We’ll be sharing the secrets of this special place with you as we tour the city.

Just to pique your interest Valencia is one of the oldest cities in Spain, founded when two thousand Roman colonists were settled there in 138 BC. The center of the Roman city was located in the present-day neighborhood of the Plaza de la Virgen.

Wish the bull ring had been at the beginning rather than having to walk all that way back
