My name is Katherine and I’ll be your guide. This tour takes approximately 2–3 hours to complete. You can stop at any time and start again at the same spot later. You can follow the route on your phone or simply listen as I guide you from one sight to the next. I’ll be giving you clear directions and the audio will automatically start playing when you get close to the next sight on the tour. Don’t worry if you need to skip a sight as the tour will pick up at the next location. One more thing before we get started – always be aware of your surroundings and be sure to obey all traffic signals.
Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico, with a population of about half a million. It isn't the capital, though, which is in Santa Fe, about an hour away. Now if you only drove through Albuquerque on the interstate, or just stayed downtown, you'd think it was pretty much like any other modern city, although with a New Mexican twist. But our walk explores the original Old Town area, which has been here for over 300 years.
During the walk we'll see two of the oldest buildings in the city, walk down some of the historical old back streets, but also get a taste of the way the Old Town has developed, with state-of-the-art new museums on its edges. We'll also give you the chance to get up-close to some of our wildlife.
So if you're ready, let's get going!
