Музей The Museum of Vasily Klyuchevsky

You’re welcome to “The house of Russian History”. That is how the first museum, devoted to Vasily Klyuchevsky, is called. It was opened to the 150th anniversary of the great academician in 1991.

Vasily Klyuchevsky is an outstanding Russian historian, academician, lecturer of Moscow State University, Moscow Theological Academy and other higher educational establishments of Moscow, the author of great historical works. The most prominent work is considered to be the “Russian history course” in 5 volumes, which made Vasily Osipovich a world famous person.

The museum complex, located in two small wooden buildings, includes the memorial house, where Vasily Osipovich lived from 1851 till 1861, the closely located house of the Shevirevs, who were the neighbors of the family, and the outbuilding. In the reconstructed memorial house, you can familiarize with Vasily Klyuchevsky childhood, and the atmosphere, future genius was surrounded by.

The interior of the museum resemble with the rooms of the middle of the last century.
