Muzeu Museum Casa Rossa Ximenes

Casa Rossa Ximenes is known today as the Multimedia Museum and Visiting Center of the Diaccia Botrona Natural Reserve.

A precise restoration, begun in 1984, has brought to life the ancient «Fabbrica delle cateratte», turning it into the natural «sentinel» of the Padule di Castiglione - the place we now call Museo Multimediale Casa Ximenes.

In 2001, the Casa Ximenes Visiting Center was inaugurated, a reception and information center at the service of the reserve. In 2009, the Grosseto province received the prestigious 2009 Touring Club Award for the preservation of biodiversity achieved on the part of the Diaccia Botrona Provincial Natural Reserve; on this occasion, the renovated Museo Multimediale Interattivo Casa Rossa Ximenes was opened to the public.
