Greetings from personal audio-guide of the Museum of Nature!
I will tell you the most interesting about its history, founders and expositions, which occupy two floors of this ancient building.
We will move from left to right. At any time you can turn me off and continue to examine the exposition by yourself.
For now we are together. And we start!

The building of the Museum of Nature is a significant architectural monument built at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The works were carried out at the expense of Kherson governatore zemstvo and charitable contributions of citizens. The doors of the museum were hospitably opened for visitors in January 1906. It became the first building in Ukraine, built just as a museum.
The founder and first director of the museum was Joseph Konrad Paczoski – a scientist-polymath, hunter, naturalist who made significant discoveries in the natural sciences. He dedicated 26 years of tireless work to forming the first unique collection of flora and fauna of the south of Ukraine. The samples collected by him still adorn the museum exposition. Visitors can see both the manuscripts and the printed works of Paczoski, his colleagues-scientists with autographs and dedicatory inscriptions.
Now the museum is part of the complex ""Kherson Regional Museum of Local Lore"", which collection numbers more than 36 thousand units.
The visitors of the exposition can get acquainted with the wild nature of our region and distant continents, see endangered animal species, find out about the life of the World ocean, about its biggest representative – fin whale.
We invite you to travel with us from the Black Sea to the Barents Sea, from coral atolls with blue lagoons to the ice-bound Antarctic
