Muzeu Welcome to Huset Aukrust

Welcome to Huset Aukrust – a place for curiosity, creativity, and joyful storytelling! Here, you’re invited into the universe of one of Norway’s most beloved artists: Kjell Aukrust. He was not only an illustrator, but also a writer, painter, inventor, and humorist – a rare combination of depth and playfulness, brilliance and mischief.

Throughout the exhibition, you’ll discover original drawings, paintings, films, models, and inventions that reflect a life devoted to creative expression. You’ll meet characters like Solan Gundersen, Ludvig, and Reodor Felgen – beloved figures who have entertained and inspired generations.

As you move through the museum, use your mobile phone to enrich your visit: scan QR codes placed throughout the exhibition, or enter number codes in the app or on our website. You'll unlock stories, background information, and hidden gems that offer new perspectives on Kjell’s world.

But Huset Aukrust isn’t just about Kjell’s creativity – it’s also about yours. Here, children and adults alike are encouraged to play, explore, draw, and discover something new about themselves. You might just leave with a story to tell, an idea to develop, or a little more color in your view of the world.

We wish you a warm welcome – and an inspiring journey into the universe of Kjell Aukrust!
