Muzeu The Museum of Bohdan Khmelnitsky

The Museum of Bohdan Khmelnitsky is the part of the historical and cultural reserve “Chygyryn”. It was opened in 1995, 25 December. The museum is situated in the picturesque part of the town Chyhyryn. The building of the museum looks like a county executive of the XIX century. It was rebuilt according to the drawing of the XIX century.
The exhibition of the museum is about the life and the activity of Bohdan Khmelnitsky. Bohdan Khmelnitsky was the famous hetman, general, diplomat, founder of the Ukrainian Cossacks state.
The modern exhibition was formed in 2006. There are near 2000 exhibits of the museum collection. It includes the unique archaeological collection of things of the XVII century, the Cossack’s weapons and equipment of XVII- XVIII century, numismatics of the XVII century, and the works of the Ukrainian art about the Cossacks.
There are nine halls of the museum:
Hall 1. “Naddnipryanska Ukraine at the end of  the XVI century - the beginning of the XVII century. B. Khmelnitsky’s family in Chyhyrynshchyna”
Hall 2. “Bohdan Khmelnitsky’s life and activity until 1648”
Halls 3-5. “Bohdan Khmelnitsky is a hetman of Ukraine, a colonel of the National liberation war of Ukrainians (1648-1657)”
Hall 6. “Chyhyryn is the capital of the Ukrainian Cossacks state”
Hall 7.  “Bohdan Khmelnitsky and the Ukrainian Orthodox church”
Hall 8. “Bohdan Khmelnitsky is a creator of the Ukrainian state”
