Audio tour Etching and Aquatint

Etching is a printing method that uses metal pins to draw on copper or zinc plates. Aquatint is a technique that allows to play with contrast and brightness through surface abrasion. Most of Waltz’ engravings were actually made in the workshop of Eugène Delâtre, premises that artists the like of Auguste Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec were using as well.
