作为封建权力和财富的象征，鸽棚是由领地效忠者们建造的。其内部有 1500 个鸽房，每个鸽房可以容纳一对鸽子。鸽棚为领主供应食物。
作为盖有瓦片且开有天窗的木筋屋，这里是维护最为细致的一座建筑。它的方形造型，区别于诺曼底地区的大部分鸽棚——一般是圆形或者六角形的。鸽棚的特权在法国大革命期间被废除。
