In 1807, under the leadership of Andrei Fedorovich Deryabin factory was rebuilt for the production of weapons. The village grew up around the plant and became known as the city of Izhevsk. Now Izhevsk is the capital of the Udmurt Republic, and a major industrial center of the Urals. In the city live more than 600 000 people.
