About the museum
Since 1999, the German Marine Museum has run NAUTINEUM on the Dänholm, a small island just east of Stralsund. It serves as a collection depot for several original exhibits from the field of fishery and marine research. Until October 2015, NAUTINEUM had been open to the public. It also provides space for scientific research and the preservation of dead marine animals.
