About the museum

We’ll start with a bit of practical information: the basilica is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 6.30 pm, from the first of April to the thirtieth of September, and from 10 am to 4.30 pm from the first of October to the thirty-first of March. On Sundays and public holidays, it is open from noon to 4.30 pm. One adult entry costs six euros fifty. The basilica sometimes closes at short notice for special services – usually funerals. So it is a good idea to call 01 48 09 83 54 – that’s 01 48 09 83 54 – before visiting, to check that it’s open. The nearest metro station to the basilica is “Basilique Saint Denis”, which is on line 13. This guided tour lasts one and a half hours – but we recommend that you also allow yourself some time to stroll around at your own pace to discover this marvellous specimen of radiant or rayonnant Gothic architecture.
