Audiotour Rosolini: walking around the city

Rosolini is 49 Km from Syracuse is located at the foot of the Iblei mountains and is located between the province of Syracuse and Ragusa. Rosolini was a fief and belonged to the Platamone family from the fifteenth century.

The town was founded by Francesco Moncada, prince of Lardaria on 1 August 1712. The village was built on a hill. The settlers settled around the so-called "Castle" ( home of the Moncada-Platamone family )Today only the bell tower and an early Christian hypogeal basilica remain.
