The Stavropoleos Monastery erected in 1724, is the only church in Bucharest to have been built in what is known as the “Brâncovenesc style”. It is an architectural jewel, its small interior yard offering an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the middle of the Bucharest Old Center. The choir of the Stavropoleos Church is the only one in Romania that sings in the neo-Byzantine style.
