SCIENCE OF KAZAKHSTAN IN 1960-1970

In 1960 "the Archeologic map of Kazakhstan" was published where the whole massif of archaeological objects, known by that moment was provided.
In 1961 the Institute of literature and art was established on the basis of the Institute of language and literature of AN KAZSSR . This institute consisted of 13 departments.
In 1961 the Institute of mathematics and mechanics of AN KAZSSR was opened. Famous academicians Persidskyi and Taymanov were elected as the directors of Institute of mathematics and mechanics of AN KAZSSR .
The same year the Museum of Zoology was opened , according to the Resolution of the Presidium of the AN KAZSSR;, was dated for 40-year anniversary KazSSR. The museum was opened by academicians Satbayev, Chokin and Galuzo.
The academician Chokin – the Kazakhstan scientist-power engineering specialist,. He was the organizer and the first director of the Kazakh research institute of power of the AN KAZSSR. He gained fame as the author and the initiator of large-scale projects in the field of power industry of Kazakhstan. In 1996 the President of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev gave the highest level of recognition to the academician Chokin - "the National Hero" - for outstanding merits to Kazakhstan and for his 90th anniversary .
In 1967-1974 AN KAZSSR was headed by the academician Shakhmardan Yesenovich Yesenov – scientis and the statesman of Kazakhstan. He was elected as the minister of geology of Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, he made a great contribution in the development of geological science and geological service of Kazakhstan.
The first Kazakhstan nuclear reactor was commissioned at the Institute of nuclear physics.
The institute of literature and art of AN KAZSSR was created on the basis of Institute of language and literature.
AN KAZSSR received distinguished guests more than once. On May 19, 1961 the academy was visited by the first secretary of the Central Committee of CPSU Nikita Khrushchev.
