About the museum
The Museum of Engines and Mechanisms, inaugurated in 2011, collects more than 300 elements that describe the evolution of science and technology in the field of machines and their constituent parts.
A chronological path allows you to retrace the last 150 years of history in the field of automotive and aeronautical engines, hydraulic and steam machines and in the field of mechanical measurements, teaching and laboratory equipment. All the pieces on display have been restored in the museum's special laboratory.
The Museum is part of the SiMuA - University Museum System of the University of Palermo. It is located on the university campus, in the Department of Industrial and Digital Innovation Engineering - Scuola Politecnica - and can be visited free of charge by booking.
