Museum The Museum of Berestov & His Surroundings

The Museum of Berestov & His Surroundings was opened in 2009 as a division of the School "Sviblovo" in Moscow.  But its history had begun earlier - in July, 1998, when Elena Kuzmenkova (The First Director of Berestov Literary Center) published a short article about creation of Berestov Literary Center in the Russian State Children's Library in the "Book review" magazine. Unfortunately, The Literary Center closed in 2009.

The permanent exposition, named "Light Forces", appears not only in the (auto)biography but in other Berestov’s  works and stories about people, who deals with him.

When the Museum was first opened there were very few things in the museum collection. However, over the years the Museum has accumulated a significant collection and own library (separate school library), which is always open to students of Gymnasium for their researches. 

In 2010 when Berestov’s widow Natalia Aleksandrova was died, her relatives transferred the heritages of Writer to archive and to the Berestov Museum. Today Museum has the Cabinet of Writer with the original interior and another points of Berestov. In addition to its everyday work the Museum cooperates with State Literature Museum and conducts the annual Berestov Readings in April, academic and practice conference or seminar and children literary readings. Last year Museum prepared and published the collection of reports.
