About the museum
It is located opposite the entrance leading from the city of Caserta into the heart of the Bosco Vecchio (Old Woods) of the Royal Palace of Caserta.
It is a significant example of Neoclassical architecture.
Inaugurated in 1848, it was designed by Valente under a royal commission to replace a previous church.
