About the museum

The Pierre Auger Observatory is a facility devoted to the study of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays. Is the biggest Observatory on the planet.

The Cosmic Rays are particles which arrive from the space at a very high speed. They were discovered by Victor Hess in 1912, but we do not know which kind of particles are, or which is the object from were they come from.

The detection is made using different techniques. More than 400 scientists from 90 institutions from 18 countries, work together as part of the International Collaboration in Pierre Auger.
