Audio tour 7. Literary Itinerary: "Little Athens and its literary places"

Through this itinerary you will discover the places where famous twentieth century Italian writers lived or described in their works.
Did you know that Caltanissetta is the birthplace of many writers such as Rosso di San Secondo, Carmelo Pirrera and poet Alfonso Campanile?
This city has also been the home of Vitaliano Brancati and Leonardo Sciascia as well as serving as inspiration for many writers like Vincenzo Consolo  and Andrea Camilleri – the well-known author of the Inspector Montalbano series.

It is thanks to Leonardo Sciascia’s long residence here that the city saw the growth of a group of intellectuals, who led to the city being nicknamed “Little Athens”.
