The city of Lisieux is known around the world thanks to Saint Therese. But did you know, its birth dates back to the Gallo-Roman era, more than 2000 years ago! Throughout history, thanks to the presence of powerful Bishops Counts until the Revolution, then to the development of an important textile industry, the city has developed strongly.
These different periods have marked the city and have left until today a rich architectural heritage, despite the destruction of the summer of 1944.
This tour invites you to explore the city to discover this heritage sometimes unknown. During the visit, you will see beautiful houses in wood pan, a fountain offered by a bishop, the beautiful public garden, but also beautiful mansions or elements of industrial heritage or reconstruction.
According to your rhythm, this visit lasts about 2 hours in the hyper center of the city. Count a little more if you continue to the Basilica, which is not included in the basic circuit.
