博物馆 MUV - Museum of the Villanovan Civilization

Welcome to MUV, the Museum of the Villanovan Civilization in Villanova di Castenaso, located near Bologna, Italy.

This land gave rise to the term Villanovan even though, before MUV’s establishment, there were no visible traces in the area of this 1st millennium BC civilization hailed as the Etruscans’ ancestors.

The Museum is set in the complex of Casa Sant’Anna, which originally belonged to Count Giovanni Gozzadini and is now municipal property. This change of use is a typical example of renovation for public use of a rural structure in the Bologna plain.
