The part of the botanical garden dedicated to the Far East was founded in the autumn of 1953. It represents the dendroflora of the eastern part of Russia, which covers the basins of rivers flowing into the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin Island and some other areas. Because of the enormous area it occupies, the Far East features a highly diverse climate, which ranges from polar in the north to tropical monsoon in the south. In late May, the cold and long spring in the Russian Far East abruptly gives way to the summer, and seaside plants quickly dress up in foliage and begin to bloom. The plants take the unstably warm February of Uzbekistan for the arrival of summer. During frosty days, which sometimes occur in the Central Asian region in the middle, or in late spring, they lose their foliage and sometimes even flowers.

All the plants in this part of the botanical garden are grown from seeds collected in the wild, from imported cuttings, or from whole plants.
