This excursion around the Exhibition of Economic Achievement, written by Sergey Nikitin, follows the classical route around the site of the Exhibition. We start at “VDNKh” metro station, and from there Sergey Nikitin leads us around all of the most attractive, famous and intriguing exhibits to be found at the Exhibition of Economic Achievement. The Exhibition originally opened in the 1930s, when the most attractive features were installed – originally as an Agricultural Show. By the 1950s the Exhibition had become the image that the USSR hoped to portray to its own people, and the wider world. This guide is, in its own way, a journey back in time.
