He had been promoting the idea of linking important local landmarks with a pedestrian trail since 1951. Fifty years later tourists from all over the world visit Boston and walk in the footsteps of USA history.
The Freedom Trail is a red path through downtown Boston, Massachusetts that leads significant historic sites. It is a 2.5 mile walk from the Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown and is popular with tourists.Licenses:

Adults: $6.00, Seniors (62+) and students with ID: $5
Children (6-18): $1.00; Children under 6 and Museum members: Free
Open daily all year.
9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (April 1 - October 31)
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (November 1 - March 31)
The Freedom Trail Ticket - Combination Ticket with Old State House and Paul Revere House
Includes admission to Old South Meeting house, the Old State House Museum and the Paul Revere House. Not available to groups over 10.

Would give it 4 stars if it would drop the extremely annoying "din din din din... dddrrrrr... auidoviator" ad at the end of each commentary. 5 stars if it would bother saying something on the longer legs, for example, describing the view fro. the bridge.
