De Rode Hoed

At Keizersgracht 104 you find the cultural center “De Rode Hoed” or the red hat. See the plaque showing a Red Hat? Until 1629 Hans Lenaertz was the owner of the property and he was a professional hat-maker. This was also the site of a hidden church, the largest in the Netherlands. It was built in the garden of the hat workshop, for the Dutch Protestants. People prayed there from the 1600s until the 1950s.
