About the museum

The Museum of Traditional Toys of Sardinia is in the old school building in Zeppara, a small village in the municipality of Ales. It was founded in 2002 with the aim of housing a collection of toys made by the students of a class of the local middle school of Ales during the school years 1993/1996.

Inside, you can see more than 200 objects, all made from simple, natural or recycled materials like cloth, tin and more. The collection includes a variety of toys, including imitation weapons, means of transport, toys that make sounds and noises, dolls, games of movement, games of skill and much more.

The Museum of Traditional Toys of Sardinia is more than just a place to look things up. It is a lively place where people of all ages can enjoy the same cultural experience. It is a museum for all, and works with other institutions and cultural groups, including artists and craftspeople. It is lively and welcoming, and aims to engage visitors, stimulate reflection and create a positive cycle of exchange and interaction.
