The collection of international modern art includes about 3,500 pieces, making it one of the museum’s largest and most significant collections. The collection represents a wide variety of artistic explorations from the 20th century, ranging from realism to the latest trends of Russian avant-garde. The exhibition is mainly comprised of works by artists from various republics of the Soviet Union, including Sergei Konenkov, Martiros Saryan, Olga Rozanova, Pavel Kuznetsov, Ural Tansykbayev, Pavel Nikonov, Djemma Skulme, Minas Avetisyan, as well as several others. The works of artists from other countries, such as Korea, Mongolia, the USA, and Austria, are also on display.
