The permanent exhibition at the Ķekava Local History Museum, Five Stories of Ķekava County, explores the lives of local inhabitants during the 20th century, from times of war and Soviet occupation to the restoration of independence. Another permanent exhibition, dedicated to the locally born cartoonist Edgars Ozoliņš, invites both children and adults to discover the art of caricature in Latvia in an interactive and engaging way, through exhibitions and educational programs. Each year, the museum also presents the Edgars Ozoliņš Award for caricature, with the recipient chosen through the Take a Laugh! drawing contest for schoolchildren. Over the years, several professional cartoonists, including Agris Liepiņš, Zemgus Zaharāns, Ēriks Ošs, Imants Melgailis, and Gatis Šļūka, have received this award.

The museum also offers a variety of thematic traveling exhibitions on caricature and cartoons as a genre, as well as several educational programs focused on historical topics.
