Muzeu The Pharmacy Museum

The museum presents the history of Transylvanian pharmacy in the location of the best known apothecary shop in Cluj. The museum, opened in 1954, and remade in 2023, reveals the atmosphere and the structure of the old apothecary shops, but also of the famous cabinets of curiosities. One can discover the way pharmacies functioned, the cures used in the past, and the objects used by pharmacists in their trade. You can even meet two of the best known owners of the pharmacy that functioned in this very building - Tobias Mauksch and György Hintz I. The display is completed by a collection of medical equipment, that continues the story of how attitudes versus disease and the body changed over time.

We reopen in June 2023.
