Our tour will unveil the secrets of the Piazza della Signoria, or Signoria Square. In addition to being the political hub of Florence, it’s the city’s largest and most formal square as well as one of the most famous in Italy. The major civic buildings of Florence are concentrated here, as are many of the artistic and historical masterpieces of the town. We’ll be describing the most magnificent sculptures by the greatest of artists including Michelangelo, Donatello, Giambologna and Cellini. We’ll be conducing our tour in a clockwork direction around the square where you’ll see the very history of Florence unfold through its buildings and sculptures. Note however, that this tour does not include the Palazzo Vecchio. So to commence our visit, let’s meet up beside the only equestrian statue you’ll find in the square on the left of the largest building, the Palazzo Vecchio. Off you go, we’ll meet you there.
