With this tour, we will guide you to the discovery of Castell’Umberto, a small town, unique in its kind. Its geographical position is among the most beautiful of the Tyrrhenian coast; here you will travel through time and you will live an unrepeatable and unforgettable experience between past and present, art and nature!Close to people with a special personality.
Unlike the neighbouring municipalities, Castell’Umberto has an ancient and a modern “soul”, in fact it extends on two levels.
Today’s historic centre, once known as Castania, was the residential area until the inhabitants were transferred to an area not far from the original position and the new municipality was named Castell’Umberto in honour of Prince Umberto I.
The new location at more than 600m above sea level will offer you wonderful sights. A 360-degrees panorama; you can admire the sea but also the mountains. Your gaze sweeps from the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea (Santa Croce Church) where it is possible to admire the “seven sisters”, also known as the Aeolian Islands, in all their beauty; to the Fitalia valley (Castania village) and the east (Park) where her majesty the Etna stands. Here you won’t miss anything!
The urban centre with its peculiar “garden city” structure welcomes you in a scenario where works built by man (Remembrance Park and Public library) are joined with green spaces created by Mother Nature (Villa Pertini and Villa Piccolo).
The beauty and authenticity of Castell’Umberto is in the relationship that has been forged over the centuries between man and nature. Constructions with materials of the territory, diversified and autochthonous landscape environment.
A symbiotic relation, resulting in an inviolate and rural environment you can admire without filters in all its honesty. Breathe the atmosphere, feel the emotions, discover the places and experience the simple and pleasant life just like the locals!
The colours, the scents, the climate and the charm of Castell’Umberto will steal your heart, leaving inside of you an unforgettable memory of this small piece of paradise.
