Об истории этого сквера очень мало информации. Известно лишь, что появился он благодаря усилиям николаевских комсомольцев, которые высаживали там деревья накануне войны. И назывался "Пионерским". Далее история обрывается.

Уже в 2000-х годах, по нацпроекту «Жилье и городская среда» городской сквер благоустроили. Теперь здесь можно проводить праздники и концерты. Тут появились зоны отдыха, детские площадки и арт-объекты - «Амур», «Фонтан» и «Каменное озеро», а также есть световой тоннель.

Здесь находятся и исторические памятники, с которыми вы и познакомитесь, путешествуя по скверу.

Во время экскурсии, при описании некоторых памятников, используются цитаты из книги краеведа Владислава Иннокентьевича Юзефова "Годы и друзья старого Николаевска". Книга имеется в фонде Николаевской районной библиотеки.
