From humble beginnings as a community foodgrowing group that kicked off in Waterford Library in September 2008, GIY has grown in to a vibrant global movement of food growers whose collective actions are creating a more sustainable food system.  We passionately believe that food growing can help people to live healthier and more sustainable lives by helping them to reconnect to food and understand where it comes from – we call this ‘food empathy’. 
 
GROW HQ is the home of the GIY movement and the GIY team.  It’s also a model of a more sustainable food system. From our base here in Waterford we are doing our bit for the Decade of Action for Climate Change by aiming to support 100 million people to grow some of their own food around the world by 2030.
 
We like to think that GROW HQ is the world’s greatest homegrown food experienceand hope you agree.  You can immerse in the world of GIY, learn how to grow and cook food, but most importantly eat delicious, organic, seasonal food right where it’s grown. So, now that you are here, why not:
