Over het museum

The Landsborough Shire Historical Museum was established in 1976 and is managed by the Landsborough and District Historical Society Inc. It is one of the largest community museums in south east Queensland and is dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the local region.
A dedicated group of volunteers staff the Museum and work to research and provide visitor access to the community’s collections and stories.
This building is the original Landsborough Shire Chambers which was designed by noted Architect Walter Carey Voller and constructed in 1924 by Alf Round using local timbers. The building is included on the Queensland Heritage Register. The rammed earth Main Museum extension was opened in 1987, designed by local architect Gerard Murtagh and builder Jeffrey Morris.
We hope you enjoy your visit to Landsborough and to the Museum and will tell others to call in.
