Update Required To play the media you will need to either update your browser to a recent version or update your Flash plugin. This circuit of nearly 6.5km will give you an introduction to the events of the Battle of the Bulge in Manhay and Grandmenil, two villages that suffered terribly during the Second World War. It was here that the 2nd SS Division, one of the most terrifying in the German army, was definitively stopped during the Von Rundstedt offensive in December 1944. It abandoned many tanks there, including the one that still stands today, in front of the Manhay History 44 Museum.
On the way, you will discover many markers that retrace some of the events that took place in our regions. You will have the opportunity to use a section of the old byway that once connected Melreux to Comblain-au-Pont which has been restored for this walk. Monuments dedicated to an aviator, to civilians or to the American units who fought in this area will allow you to discover the story of these martyred soldiers, heroes who gave their lives so that we could live ours.
