On the 130th anniversary of the painter Ubaldo Oppi (Bologna, 1889 -Vicenza 1942) the Administrators of Bolzano Vicentino established the Gallery of the Council Chamber with a special layout designed by Mauro Zocchetta, teacher at the Accademia delle Belle Arti of Venice.

The Gallery includes 13 large format drawings on paper Ubaldo Oppi made in preparation for the frescoes of the nearby Archpriest Church of Santa Maria Oppi decorated between 1933 and 1935.

The Gallery of the Council Chamber and the Archpriest Church in Bolzano Vicentino constitute an extraordinary scattered museum of religious art through the works by Ubaldo Oppi; they also add an important chapter to the life story of this painter, well known all over the world: the one of his last season in Vicenza.
