Artists’ Statement:

The History of America has always been a unique source of inspiration for artists. While growing up on Long Island and now residing in my adoptive state of Delaware I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty and historic charm of both regions. At Old Swedes and in other parts of this area there are stories of both local and national interest to be discovered.

Using my background in painting and illustration I like to express my fascination of these historic surroundings by depicting the people, both well-known or otherwise, which have help mold their communities along in this quickly changing world. I enjoy using various media such as graphite, wash and oil. My style leans toward an Americana and primitive look in many cases which I believe is well suited to the subjects I draw and paint.
