Hello, my name’s Margarita, and I'm one of the Ginebreda family’s workers. I’m just eighteen years old, but my family has lived here in this town for generations, it’s as if the very stones whispered our name.

Here, you’re right by the city walls. And remember, these are much more than simply walls. They’re a line, a line between two different ways of life.

When night falls, the gates are locked tight, and time feels safer somehow. Outside, the road is long, and fear travels faster than the carts.

Everything comes in through these gates: merchants, news, riches...and a few things we really don’t want too: rumours, hunger and disease. That’s why every single stone here carries weight - protecting us.

My dad’s Father Petrus Ginebreda, master tanner. And my uncle’s the mostassaf, the municipal magistrate: he keeps a close eye on the market, on weights and measures, the price of bread, the quality of the meat. He always says that a town can only thrive when there’s order - and as long as no-one’s cheating.

But me, I’m going to tell you all about a different kind of order. The kind you don’t find in the parchments. The one that’s in the workshops, the call to arms, the people who work their fingers to the very bone while it’s the powerful men make all the decisions.

Walk with me, and I’ll show you those things that so often get forgotten, the sounds of the workshops, the warning cries of alarm, and the faith in the hearts of our people.

Head on up the street, following the walls to the right, and I’ll be there waiting for you at the next stop, to tell you more about these stones that protect us.
