Welcome to the Andelva – a river that has kept the wheels turning for four hundred years.

On this walk you follow the river, waterfall by waterfall, down towards Bønsdalen. You begin at Eidsvoll, where Norway's Constitution was born and an ironworks was founded in 1624. You'll see brick pulp mills beside modern power stations, a concrete block in the river that once carried a cableway, and a grindstone honouring the workers who stood together.

You'll walk part of the pilgrim route to Trondheim, meet the painter Arne Ekeland, and end where raw material for artificial silk was once shipped abroad.

Stop, look around and listen. Pictures and more history await in the app. Enjoy your walk!
