Introduction

We are now in the studio of the Superintendent, who is the official representative of the foundation. The name Superintendent was introduced in 1843 and replaced that of Governor of the Property used ever since the foundation of the Pio Monte della Misericordia. The paintings, almost all dating from the seventeenth-century, the writing desk and the two bookcases in carved wood containing ancient volumes, make the interior harmonious and intimate.
