The city's hotels were converted into barracks, and its favorable climate made it an ideal location for training facilities like the Vinoy Hotel and the training ground that is now the USF St. Petersburg campus. The influx of military personnel boosted the local economy, and many servicemen chose to settle in the area permanently after the war. This driving tour will take you back to the places that were used during the war. A tribute to our Greatest Generation Heros!
