Welcome to the collection: Transit (2007-2014)
The exhibition Transit was curated by the artist Meredith Brice, partner and wife of Stephen Copland and involved another Australian artist couple, Karee Darl and Colin Reaney. The artist couples lived and worked together in the United Arab during 2007-2008 and explored identities in transit and male and female aesthetic responses to this migration for work.
Transit was first shown in 2009 at the Virginia Commonwealth Gallery, Doha, Qatar. The artists developed and redeveloped artworks as the exhibition travelled to Art Gallery, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2010), Macquarie University Art Gallery, Sydney Australia (2013) and Art Space Wodonga Victoria, Australia in 2014.
