Om museet
Welcome to the General Library of Ciudad Real. Its origins date back to the year 1985, when the University of Castilla-La Mancha came into operation and the different academic centres had libraries that worked on their own. It was not until 1993 when the General Library of Ciudad Real was officially created, the first of the university's general libraries, which meant a first step towards the new organisation of the institution's library services. It currently acts as the head of the Campus library system, coordinating and directing the functioning of the rest of the centre libraries. We offer more than 7,000 square metres, 1,900 reading desks and a collection of approximately 1.5 million volumes. We offer our users extended opening hours, being the usual schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and extending during the exam period until 6:00 a.m.
Our purpose with this audioguide is to show you the resources and locations that the library offers for all its users.
