Tour audio The intangible cultural heritage of the Crimean people

Crimea is a peninsula, which is washed by two seas:  the Black and the  Azov. The seas are connected by the Kerch Strait. The land of Crimea called Tavrida has  always been a unity place of different  nations, religions and cultures.  It  was in  ancient times, and it continues today. For the first time, man appeared on the peninsula about 250 thousand years ago. At different  centuries  Taurs, Cimmerians,  Sarmatians, Byzantines and Khazars, Turks and Rusichs inhabited Tavrida. Each nationality has brought a significant treasure into the culture of the region: these are clothing items, national cuisine, musical instruments, songs, fairy tales.

People of many nationalities live in Crimea nowadays: Russians, Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians, Greeks,  Armenians, Gypsies, Bulgarians and others. The culture of Crimea is distinguished by ethnic diversity. At the same time, historically, common forms took shape in the economy, housing, handicraft products, some influences appeared in arts and crafts.
