    Welcome to Athens!

Greek salad, satsiki, souvlaki, gyros – these famous Greek dishes are known all over the globe, from Moscow restaurants to New York cafes. However, what does real Greek food look like in her native country? How is it served in small, cozy taverns, how much does it cost, and what flavor might it surprise you with?

We invite you to embark on an exciting journey through the streets of the world's oldest democracy to discover the true essence of Athens and the diversity of Greek cuisine. We will not focus on luxury restaurants in tourist areas; on the contrary, we will head to places where there is a relaxed atmosphere, away from the beaten tourist paths, where locals come not for the atmosphere, but for the great food!

During this gastronomic tour, you will discover many amazing facts that will make your understanding of Greek culture even more intense. You will learn why octopuses need to be beaten, where you can find the ointment used by Athenian Hoplites to treat their wounds, and in which area of Athens the hooligans ruled for half a century. We will also discuss the mysterious Arabic inscriptions on some Orthodox churches, tell you about the plane tree on which both Greeks and Turks were hanged, and share the address where the best cod is served in Athens, not to mention many other interesting places and dishes.

There are two museums on our way – the Keramikos Museum and the Acropolis Museum of Athens, as well as two archaeological parks – Keramikos and the Roman Agora. We will share with you fascinating facts about the exhibits that these objects contain. In order to have time to enjoy all these sights and try everything that Athens has to offer you, we recommend planning a full-day excursion. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes — exciting discoveries and gastronomic pleasures await you!
