The art of time travelling

Mankind has always dreamed of journeys in time and space, which has stimulated creation in all its forms. Imagining alternative futures of imagined past, discovering new territories or new planets, dreaming of a utopian city or fearing the end of the world … so many fundamental questions that keep on revealing things about ourselves.

Discover the exhibition « BYE BYE FUTURE! » where works of contemporary artists enter in dialogue with creations from pop culture and science fiction, classics from literature or film and video games. Travel through the modern and contemporary imagination thanks to the many different layers the exhibition proposes, where machines and robots question the creative act and the idea of progress. Discover works by big names like Fred Biesmans, Fabien Chalon, Stéphane Halleux, Olivier Deprez, Wim Delvoye, Katia Bourdarel, Pierre et Gilles, Natalia de Mello, Tania Mouraud or Hayao Miyazaki.

The exhibition unites more than hundred art works from big European private and public collections or that have been specially realized for the occasion; including the work Panorama du Domaine de Mariemont en 2100 byvLuc Schuiten.

To accompany the exhibition, there exists a catalogue (in French) and an album of the exhibition (in English).
